How it all began

Welcome to the colourful world of Colorific! The heart of Colorific is based in Melbourne Australia and continues to spread its Colorific magic across the world.

You might be wondering - how did it all start? Well, first came the Big Bang nearly 4.6 billion years ago. Then the earth cooled down. Then Dinosaurs; Neanderthals weren’t far behind and developed science and math.

The year 2017 rolled around and Colorific made robot dinosaur toys for kids. For over 25 years now, Colorific has been a global developer and marketer of kids’ products and has expanded its international distribution network to over 40 countries.

Colorific’s purpose is to create and share amazing kids’ products for the world’s next generation to experience!

1986

Colorific began as a small division of the Alexander Group in Melbourne, Australia. The company developed and marketed a unique range of children's crafts to the toy and craft industries, and school suppliers.

1990

Wayne Brander and Peter Levi acquired Colorific. Each partner had a successful background in retailing, and both were founding directors of Australia's second-largest toy buying group, Toy Kingdom.

1996

Colorific moved into its first purpose-built warehouse/office complex in Springvale. Sales continued to grow significantly.

2004

Colorific moved into its second purpose-built, modern and exciting headquarters in Clayton!

2005

The Melbourne Business Awards voted Colorific the 2005 Business of the Year!

2006

Colorific was recognised as the leading supplier in Children's Craft by receiving the First Generation - Family Business of the Year award in Victoria.

2010

Colorific celebrated its 20th birthday with a huge anniversary event attended by staff customers, suppliers and media.

2013

Colorific acquired children's furniture, nursery equipment and play accessories brand Jolly Kidz from Protoys.

2015

Colorific celebrates its 25th anniversary!

Colorific has expanded its international distribution network to almost 50 countries.

Colorific’s product development team begins to improve its technology and capabilities with exciting gadgets such as 3D printing technology, new skillsets and more!

2016

Colorific launched its first vehicle and marked its entry in the toy category with Rev Racerz.

2017

Colorific launched its first Youth Electronic/Robotic products with Build a bot. Selection at Walmart and entering the US market for the first time in August 17.

Late in the year Colorific rebrands by moving its global headquarters and releasing a new logo that aligns with their ‘creating fun’ identity.
