Awarded the ultimate toy job at one of Australia’s most loved toy companies, 21 kids aged between the ages of 5 – 10 received the opportunity of a lifetime after winning Colorific’s crafty competition on Facebook. 16 of them attended a Play Day at Colorific where they had the opportunity to play with and test a whole range of toys.
Another five children aged between 5 – 10 years old will be remote Toy Testers, receiving new Colorific toys throughout the year to test out and play with.

Maud Rocher, Brand Manager at Colorific, emphasises the importance of this event saying “Children are the very reason why we develop our toys. That’s why meeting with some boys and girls to listen to their expectations and share their dreams seems to us the natural way to go to make better toys!”
What happened on the day?
The kids arrived at Colorific’s head office to find an entire showroom packed with toys ready and waiting for them to start playing with and a beret each to bring out the artist in them! The first activity they got stuck into was plaster painting. There was a choice between a scary dragon, a beautiful castle or their very own car. Painting their plaster figures was serious business and staying within the lines required maximum concentration.
Next the toy testers could choose amongst different toy islands. Was it going to be the cute felt creations kingdom, the invent-a-toy station, or the boys all time favourite Formula 1 Wood WorX workshop? For 6 year old Tyren, the choice was easy: he already had a collection of 14 Wood WorX kits at home (for non-toy testers, Wood WorX is one of Colorific’s most successful ranges made up of wooden kits, especially vehicles, that kids glue, paint and decorate) so not only did he have a head start on this one, he also had a lot to say!
As a parting gift, children were rewarded with bags of toys to take home, an official Toy Tester certificate, heaps of stories for their first session of “Show & Tell” at school this year and a head full of good memories! Rebecca, 10 years old wraps up the day by saying “I felt very special to be a Colorific Toy Tester today and loved the fact that what I had to say about toys mattered!”
